About Union County Criminal History

No single office holds every Union County criminal record. The New Jersey Judiciary keeps court files, police agencies control their reports, Union County BCI handles local identification work, and New Jersey State Police maintains fingerprint-linked state history. Corrections and registry records use still other systems. We organize those official paths so readers can identify the right custodian, portal, address, or telephone number with less guesswork.

Why We Built This Site

New Jersey record access depends on the custodian and the type of file. The Union County Sheriff and Division of Corrections control different local records, while Superior and municipal court staff maintain their own dockets and dispositions. The New Jersey State Police, State Bureau of Identification holds statewide criminal history information, the New Jersey Department of Corrections runs the state custody locator, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry publishes qualifying registry entries. This site brings the verified contacts, request routes, fee rules, and official search links together without treating those separate products as one database.

What You Will Find Here

  • Official access routes: where Union County police, jail, court, and state records can be requested
  • Case-search help: how to locate and read a Union County court case
  • Self-review instructions: how fingerprint-based personal record requests work through New Jersey State Police
  • Record-clearing information: where New Jersey expungement petitions are filed and how local records are updated

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, not part of a New Jersey court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has firm limits:

  • We do not retrieve criminal records or perform official background checks
  • We cannot issue certified case papers, criminal histories, or other government documents
  • We do not submit OPRA requests, court filings, or expungement petitions for visitors
  • We cannot offer legal advice about a charge, warrant, disposition, or petition
  • We cannot promise that an agency's fee, hours, address, or procedure has not changed

An official copy must come from the agency that maintains it, such as the court, police custodian, Sheriff, or New Jersey State Police. This site only identifies those sources.

Search Partners

Third-party providers operate the search boxes shown on some pages. Their own terms govern prices, data handling, and results. A completed paid signup may produce a referral payment that supports public access to this site. We do not set partner fees and cannot control the content or accuracy of their results.
